”Your life isn’t yours if you always care what others think.”
Do you ever feel like you’re holding yourself back because you fear what others might think of you?
Girl, you are not alone! Many of us feel that way. However; when you start caring too much, it becomes unhealthy. You start depriving yourself of happiness and fulfillment. When you care too much about what others will think or say, you live your life for them and not yourself.
So why do we even care? What is it about other’s approval that we so desperately desire?
It’s part of human nature to care about what other people think about us. Worrying what others think of us stems from fear.
Fear of embarrassment
Fear of being alone
Fear of not being enough
Fear of failure
Fear of rejection
FEAR IS A LIAR. Do not let it rule your life. The cold hard truth is you cannot control other people’s opinions of you. This YOUR life not anyone else’s.
Would you rather live a life full of “what ifs” because you're scared of what others will think or would you rather live a life full of joy and happiness doing what you love?
How to stop caring about what others think:
Focus on yourself more - Start focusing on what you enjoy. Write down things you like about yourself and what makes you happy. If you start focusing on what you enjoy, you’ll stop worrying what others think.
Find your tribe – Surround yourself with people that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel, energies are contagious. You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with, so it’s important to choose dreamers, doers, thinkers, and people who see greatness in you.
Mind your own business - Stop asking people what they think of you and stop worrying about their opinions.
Focus on self-love - It's not selfish to love yourself. Take care of yourself and make your happiness a priority.
Stop overthinking - Overthinking can lead you to thinking you're being judged even when that's not the case.
Realize life is way too short – Life is simply too short to care what others think. You only are given one life to live, so why would you spend it worrying about others opinions.
Live your life without worrying about others opinions and you will live your life to the maximum
